American Rococo Revival Laminated Rosewood Settee, in the pattern referred to as "Hawkins", attributed to J. and J. W. Meeks, New York, third quarter 19th century, the tall pierced and carved crest featuring a pair of large roses flanked by grape clusters and scrollwork throughout, 49 inches tall, 62 inches wide and 38 inches deep.
CONDITION REPORT:
American Rococo Revival Laminated Rosewood Settee: Overall in good condition. The frame is sturdy. Scattered shrinkage cracks and minor separation to some laminate to the left side of the frame. Small scattered chips to some of the carving with a few small face carvings gone. The grape cluster indicates some re-carving. Some filler added. Soiling and stains to the fabric. Refinished at one time.
