THEODORE ROOSEVELT SIGNED MILITARY COMMISSION -
Original military commission signed by the 26th President of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt. President Theodore Roosevelt, (1858-1919) or "Teddy" Roosevelt as he was commonly known was Vice President and became the 26th President of the United States following the assassination of President William McKinley. Known for what he called a "strenuous life," Roosevelt was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Prior to his Presidency, during the Spainish-American War, Roosevelt helped organize and eventually lead the first U.S. National Cavalry, known as the "Rough Riders."
The military commission measures 15 5/8" x 19 1/4" The commission is in Very Fine condition. There are several vertical wrinkles Slight discoloration along the edges. The seal shows very slight wear Signatures are signed in black ink This item is guaranteed to be 100% authentic.

To all who shall see these presents, Greeting:
Know ye, That reposing special trust and confidence in the Patriotism, Valor, Fidelity and Abilities of John A. Brockman, I have nominated and by and with the advice and consent of the Senate do appoint him First Lieutenant of Infantry in the service of the United States: to rank as such from the twenty-ninth day of July, nineteen hundred and five. He is therefore carefully and diligently to discharge the duty of First Lieutenant by doing and performing all manner of things thereunto belonging.
And I do strictly charge and require all Officers and Soldiers under his command to be obedient to his orders as First Lieutenant. And he is to observe and follow such orders and directions, from time to time, as he shall receive from me, or the future President of the United States of America, or the General or other superior Officers set over him, according to the rules and discipline of War.
This Commission to continue in force during the pleasure of the President of the United States, for the time being, and until the end of the next session of the Senate.
Given under my hand at the City of Washington, this thirteenth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and six and in the one hundred and thirtieth year of the Independence of the the United States
